The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life Museum Project - Berkeley, CA

Pfau Long Architecture


A $5 million project consists of full interior remodel and full seismic upgrade. A long span steel truss was used in order to remove two major interior columns in the large event space. The museum occupies the ground floor (16,231 sf), and the upper floor (7,598 sf) will be used as a research facility by UC Berkeley.

Escuela Bilingue Internacional (EBI) Renovation - Emeryville, CA

Full renovation to convert an existing two-story concrete structure formerly used by a church group and multiple businesses to a chartered, elementary school. This project results in a full seismic retrofit to upgrade the existing steel braced frames. The first phase of the project is completed.

SVACA Animal Shelter - Santa Clara, CA


A renovation of an existing un-occupied tilt up concrete office building in to a new animal care and sheltering facility for the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority. The new facility is 17,000 square feet that includes a medical clinic for animals, and the total construction cost for the project is $2.7 million.

Laney College Accessibility Improvement - Oakland, CA

A $2 million accessibility improvement project for the entire campus including adding multiple concrete ramps, wheel chair lifts, and two elevators.

Laney College Tower Renovation - Oakland, CA

A $1.5 million, multiple renovations project at Laney College that includes complete demolishing and rebuilding the interior spaces for two classroom and Financial Aid office, renovation of lobby and offices for the main tower.

A $5.5 Million project for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals that includes a new 5,000 square feet clinic building, a 4,000 square feet classroom addition to an existing building, and full remodel and seismic retrofit of an existing 1957 CMU building.

Sutter County Animal Control Facility - Yuba City, CA
